Remember that saunas are designed to heat your body, so it’s important to be aware of the risks of heat exhaustion, heat stroke, and dehydration. Do not consume alcohol before your appointment as this can lead to rapid dehydration. Do not step into any sauna if you’re sick. Despite the relative safety of infrared saunas, you can still overdo it by not giving yourself enough breaks or spending too long in the sauna. Drink plenty of water before, during, and after your appointment and be sure to rehydrate every 15 minutes or so while in the sauna.

How Do You Prepare for Your Sauna Session?

Before stepping into the sauna, make sure you’re completely hydrated. Do not consume alcohol or drugs before your appointment. Wear loose-fitting clothes or one of our complimentary towels. The more skin that is exposed, the better. If you’re taking medication, consult with your doctor before your appointment to make sure that it’s safe to use infrared light therapy.

What Are the Health Benefits?

While the health benefits of infrared saunas still need to be studied on a larger scientific scale, small studies have shown that infrared saunas provide many health benefits for people who have rheumatoid arthritis, fibromyalgia, chronic pain, poor blood circulation, muscle spasms, and stiffness. Does My Insurance Cover Infrared Therapy?
